Drawing you into a contract with low rates, only to increase the rates by 30% once you've signed
I wanted a SIM-only contract as I already have a phone. The contract I picked was amongst other things based on the per-minute out-of-bundle call cost, which was quoted as being R1.52 to both landlines and cellphones (including other networks). Within 4 months my call rate was increased to R1.99 for both landlines and cellphones. That is a 30% increase. There is no way that this is some sort of standard annual increase in fees - inflation is not 30%. It is clear that they sell you a contract at a reduced call rate and then give you little bit of time to settle in before they massively bump the call rate cost. This level of dishonesty is deplorable.
