Doubling charges on a month on month contract after expiry of 24 months contract

I signed a 24 months data contract with Cell C of 10G at R119. That was the advertised priced which I signed for. At the end of the contract, the price was unilaterally increased to R278 without notifying me. I noticed this when I was reviewing debit orders on my accounts, 5 months after expiry of contract. Upon enquiry, I was told that Cell was charging me a discounted price up to 24 months and reverted to charging the full price after end of 24 months. I never knew of any original as I signed a contract at the advertised price of R119. I was not even informed about the reversal to original price at the end of the 24 month contract. The customer service consultant has the nerve to tell me that I need to sign a new 24 month contract in order for the contract to be charged at R119. This is an unacceptable way of trying to force anyone to sign a contract. I need all my money that have been ****** in the past 5 months to be refunded back. This is shocking customer service. I’ll never sign Cellc contract ever again. That’s why they are not doing well in business, the customer service is shocking.

Thanks for the response but what you are saying is invalid to me. As I stated in my email, at no point was I told that the contract was at a discounted price. I saw an advert and signed a contract as per the advertised price. This issue of discount falling away might be a company policy but at no stage was this mentioned to me when I took the contract. I never signed for this. Why is this imposed on me. It is ****************. Like I said and I say it again, I took a contract at an advertised priced and not a discounted price as you are alleging. As a customer, how am I expected to know that the advertised price is a discounted price?

Do you receive your monthly statement , as it is on your statement if it has a discount also the notification that you are left with how many months and what will happen after?

I am not disputing receiving statements and number of months left on the contract. That I am aware of as I also keep my records. Im disputing the fact that I sign a discounted price which you say was going to end at the nd of the contract. Let me explain my stance clearly for the last time.

I am saying,

1)I signed for an advertised price. At no point was I told or was it reflected on a contract that there is an original price and an advertised price. No concept of original price was ever reflected to me
2) at no point was the fact stated in my contract that the price will double after 24 months (to what you call the original price

This is my last response and I will have to report this matter to the Ombudsman as this is ****************

Please stop sending statements to me. I have all statements you have sent to me. What is under dispute is a contract not a statement. Those are legally two different documents. For your knowledge, two parties sign a contract but a statement is a supplier's document. Please do not confuse the two as they are different documents. This is about a contract between Cell c and myself
