Do not use Cell C as a fibre provider.

Cell C made false additions to my credit score and made it difficult for me to get credit. Cell C said that it closed my account, and that I owed them money. In fact, my account was not closed as I was still using my Cell C fibre account and was paid up.

When I asked for a letter of good faith indicating that everything was ok, Cell C informed me that was not possible unless I cancelled my account. I couldn’t believe it, they’d rather lose business than write a letter.

Firstly, Cell C does not have in house customer service reps meaning I’m always interacting with people who don’t know what’s going on. Most of my interactions were with people who didn’t know how to solve my problems and had no clue what was going on.

Secondly, I had to go through so many people to get any help. It was difficult and took around a week of consistent communication to get one person to help me. I was promised things that never materialised, I do not care for the run around.

When I finally got my account cancelled and my paid up letter, I was informed that the last day of my fibre line with Cell C would be the 29th of February 2024.

25th February 2024 comes and Cell C charges me. This was not correct, as I got a letter saying that I was all paid up. Why did Cell C take more money?

Not only that, they haven’t freed up my line! I can’t move fibre providers because Cell C messed up again.

I need to cancel credit cards because Cell C is charging me even with a closed account.

Consistently I’ve had poor interactions with the Cfibre staff and will make it my life’s mission to deter any potential fibre customers from Cell C as it’s just not worth the pain. Just because Cell C fibre is a bit cheaper than other providers, it is not a good company to trust with your fibre needs.

There is no cancellation reason because the account is closed! How does Cell C not see that I’ve closed everything AND have a letter indicating this?

I have done everything required and yet Cell C cannot do anything to actually close my account.

Give me my money back and close my account.
