DISGUSTING SERVICE by Cell C Insurance & Finrite - ***

after much research & contemplation, I purchased my first contract phone (Nokia Lumia 730) with Cell C,

Blue Route, Tokai, CPT, in January 2015, including the insurance cover.

everything went well, until my handset was accidentally damaged - screen severely cracked.

I went in to the same branch to lodge a claim (***) on 06Oct2016, at which point it

was discovered that the Cell C employee who captured my contract, neglected to register my insurance

cover!

Cell C, however, had been diligently deducting my monthly subscription fees & insurance premiums,

without any problems.

after blowing a gasket in-store, the store manager (Lucy Hartnick) eventually managed to get the

insurance cover activated retrospectively, at my insistence.

but, not before I incurred more expenses, in the form of bank charges for historical bank statements,

in order to prove to Cell C, that they were, in fact, debiting my account every month, for the preceding

18 months!

on 20Oct2017, I receive an sms from the Cell C repair centre, advising that a repair quote had been

generated & that I was to contact them to make payment.

with much effort, I had to remind the Cell C branch staff that I could not accept the quote on behalf of

Finrite & that they should, in fact, be referring this repair claim to the insurer!

there-after followed weeks of calls & occasional visits to the Tokai branch, as well as numerous calls to

their call centre, with the mandatory 30 minute wait due to "high call volume period" ...even at 8am!

eventually, round about Christmas time 2016, I received a call from Ms Hartnick, informing me that

the Finrite insurance people were trying to reach me, in order to finalise my claim, but that they needed

to speak with me directly.

I immediately called them & after a second 30 minute wait, managed to speak with a consultant, with

whom I performed all the relevant confirmations, was advised that my claim was being completed & that

I only needed to pay the required excess of R200.

this was immediately done & the proof emailed to Finrite on 30Dec2016.

on 18Jan2017, I received an sms advising that "my device has been dispatched from Cell C repair

centre."

I went to the Tokai branch on Sunday, 22Jan2017 to collect my handset, only to discover that it still had

not been repaired!

reason provided: Finrite rejected the repair quote received from the Cell C repair centre....????

***** ??? HOW IS THIS MY PROBLEM, CELL C...???

is there no end to the levels incompetence, blatant insincerity, and brazen dishonesty, of these

DIS-service providers?!
