Debit order date moved without permission

I received a message STATING (Not asking) that my account will be debited on the 27th, which is earlier than my contracted debit date. I called Cell C on the 23rd to inform them that this will not be suitable as the account will not have funds on that date. I was assured that the debit order will be moved to the original date. The debit order was still pushed through on the 27th, causing my account to go into a negative balance.

I will not be renewing my contract with Cell C after being a customer for over 10 years, with my current contract spend of over R2000 per month.
