A month ago I went in to Cell C Ladysmith to have my banking details changed. Every month prior to this, the debit orders have gone through on the last day of the month (as they should). Nowhere on any of the forms that I filled in did I give authorisation for the debit order date to be changed, I merely changed the banking details and account ownership. Now suddenly on 24 March an unexpected debit order goes through, which fails because I ONLY GET PAID ON THE 25TH. I gave you 3 month's worth of bank statements--can you not see when I get paid??

So on Monday, 27 March I phone customer care and speak to a very apologetic lady by the name of Pamela who cannot tell me why this has happened and who cannot provide me with payment details prior to the month of March because she cannot pull up any of my previous statements (which I don't for a second believe). She then also tells me that I will be charged R70 by Cell C for the defaulted payment and that there is nothing she can do about it. All she can do for me is change the payment date back to what it has always been.

I want to know who thought it would be a good idea to change my debit order date to the day before I get paid, without my knowledge and without my written or verbal consent. Furthermore, I demand to be refunded the R25 that the bank charged me FOR YOUR MISTAKE, and don't you dare try charge me that R70. My good credit record is also tarnished now for something that I never agreed on.

We apologise for the manner in which this matter was handled and for the inconvenience caused. You went to the store to change your banking details and account ownership not your debit order date.
Perhaps the date was changed when you went for these changes and it was not supposed to be changed but we will investigate and assist accordingly.
