DEALING WITH CUSTOMERS IN BAD FAITH
I have been using Cell C for a very long time to an extent that at some stage i had 3 Cell C contracts running concurrently. I had to cancel 2 other contracts when their respective terms ended because of what i believed was a developing trend of Cell C becoming not user friendly anymore. I am afraid Cell C is not improving and when the term of my last contract comes to an end i will have no option but to port my number to the other service provider due to the following reasons;
1. When the respective 2 other contracts i wrote about above came to an end i advised Cell C a month before in both cases of my intention not to continue with the contracts. 2. In both cases Cell C acknowledged my intention and i was accordingly informed that my the contracts will cease. 3. True enough, when each of the two contacts came to an end the contracts were stopped and both sim cards were converted to prepaid and consequently retained against my name on their system. 4. I didn't mind that, but the unexpected happened. While the two contacts were on prepaid Cell C submitted my name to the credit bureaus for the two sim cards that were already on prepaid. 5. Cell C did not even bother to call me and advise me in respect of any monies that i might be owing them in respect of the two contracts, but they opted to list my name at the credit bureaus as owing R509 towards the two contracts that were cancelled and already on prepaid. 5. No call, nothing from Cell C to to advice me in respect of this, what is more baffling is that the R509 that Cell C indicated at the credit bureaus that i owe them is that the two contracts shows that i actually opened them on the 26 November 2020, which is far from the truth. 6. In effect, Cell C started to bill me for prepaid sim cards long after the two contracts ceased to exist. 7. I called Cell C and the poor consultant on the other end was baffled as i was and could not ascertain properly what could have transpired. 8. Is it not practice that you do not convert the contract that is still owing to prepaid until you have recovered all monies owed to that contract in full? 9. if that the case why then would you go out of the way to list a sim card which has already been converted to prepaid? i stand to be advised in this regard.
I therefore make an appeal to Cell C to fix the mess that you put me in. I am now listed negatively at the credit bureaus because you acted in bad faith towards me when i have been an erstwhile, faithful customer to your brand for a very long time
Thank you
