****************: CELL C PORTABLE WIFi ROUTER

I was persuaded to go for a Cell C contract for a 4G LTE wifi router which promises "fast & reliable" internet speeds and network at a reasonable price by one of their sales representatives in Paarl. Since then I had issues with this router from the first day that I had bought it. I went back within the 7 days return period and was told I cant return the router cause its a contract but my arguement was that it does not deliver as promised. Everyday there is a drop in the network and it hardly operates on the LTE network. I receive important messages hours later and only because I put the wifi off and use my data or airtime. This has been an ongoing struggle and a massive frustration. My question is does this router even work????!!! This is completely ridiculous. Why would you buy a router if you have to use your own airtime to receive your msgs. The router has a small screen that indicates that I am using data but I definitely do not agree. Streaming on youtube buffers continuosly and this is a supposedly 4G router. Whats app msgs do not go through, my emails are delayed and I am on the road regularly hence me purchasing this contract (product).

That is not all... After two months of using this product, the battery swelled up and it could not charge properly. I had to take it in to the shop for repairs... What made this situation worse is that I was told by their employees that I would receive smses about the progress and when my router would be complete. I got no messages at all throughout the time that it had gone in. I was also charged for the month that they had kept it in for repairs just to give me a new one when I returned. The service that I received is the reason I am not happy with this Service provider.

Another issue was that the sales consultant did not explain to me that when the data was depleted that I would still be paying for data usage, instead he sold me the glorious R99 a month fee only story. I asked if the line is capped at the R99 price, he said yes and then I was billed R253 in my second month of having the contract. I had to find out the hard way and then ask the Canal Walk branch to change this.

So I am now in a situation where I have to pay for a contract for something that was falsely advertised by CELL C. This ZTE MF910 is a cheap money making scheme. Cell C should seriously not sell promises and deliver what they advertise. I am not sure about what to do, I have been to the store ample times to ask what the issue is with the drop in the line for majority of the day, only to get unsatisfactory respsonses. I want my money back honestly!!!

My advice to anyone who seeks a wifi router, stay away from CELL C!!
