I would like to lay a complaint against Cellc.

I was sold a product 2 years ago. I was not made aware that the package that was sold to me was a discounted package. In June of 2023 my contract had ended and on the 15th of June I received a bill of R609.51!.

I was shocked because my monthly installment was R261 pm. When I contacted CellC I was told that the package I was on was a discounted package and that now that it has ended the discount falls away and the amount of R609.51 is due. THIS WAS THE FIRST I HEARD OF THIS!.

I made the agent aware that when the package was sold to me that I was NOT made aware that it was a discounted package nor that I would be liable to pay the full price when the contract was ended.The agent then said that she would listen to call recordings and get back to me.

When the agent called again she told me that on the voice recoding that she listened too I was not made aware by the sales agent of it being a discounted package nor aware of paying any amount in the region of R609.51.

I then said that had I been made aware I would not would have taken a contract like this. I then asked to speak to her superior.

A few days later the supervisor called and I had explained the situation again. The supervisor said she will investigate and get back to me(she oo had listened to the call recording and agreed that I was not made aware). When she did get back to me she had told me that I am still liable for the R609.51 which was baffling as I was sold a lie and I asked to speak to someone above her and to escalate this matter because I can't be held liable for a package that was sold to me under false pretenses WHICH I NEVER WOULD HAVE TAKEN.

I was told the contract ended on the 8th of June 2023 and on the 8th of June 2023 the card was destroyed because I was so happy to be done with cell C services only to be shocked by this.

Today the 28th of june I was contacted by an agent and not a manager which I asked for and told again that I must pay the full amount of R609.51.

This very contract I had taken 4 years ago. Initially when this contract was coming to an end cellc put me on a month to month contract until we had 5g in the area thereafter when I called to cancel because I had a better offer I was told that I was not put on a month to month contract by cellc but it was another 2 year contract which I had to accept after trying to fight back with no success.

I was ****** once by CellC when they said I will be on a month to month contract which turned out to be another two year contract and now I'm being ****** again by CellC for R609.51 of which I do not have the money because I budgeted for my installment of R261 only.
