Daylight *******

I have been a Cell C customer for more than 4 years now and with so many contracts.

However, I was sent an email that I'm in arrears for money I didn't know I owed. When I first inquired, I was told I took an upfront-pay-contract on the 29th February 2024 of which I was never informed of. The lady was so helpful and told me clearly in what could have happened and created a case for me.

I received a follow-up call from Cell C, and I was requested to confirm my ID number. At the time of the call, I was not in a safe place to do that, and I requested another method to confirm my ID. Unfortunately there's no such service at Cell C. I couldn't be assisted and was advised to create a self service pin in substitute for confirming my ID whenever Cell C contact me. Still However, on the 22nd May 2024, I was told such service was discontinued due to ***** and these reasons I understand.

Now, on the 22nd May 2024, I made a follow-up call and I was told I need to cancel that upfront-pay-contract. I was put from pillar to post when i had to go through the security questions. The first attempt all answers were correct but the consultant informed me that one of the answers were wrong. After the third attempt, I supposedly "passed" the security questions. The lady that assisted me was so impatient and told me I first needed to pay R99.00 I owe Cell C, for the contact I didn't take as I wasn't aware it is a contract. I disputed this and now, I am told in order to create a case, I need to forward an affidavit, 3 months bank statements and copy of id. Why? It's not that I'm unable to pay it because I don't have it, but because I didn't use Cell C services as I was never initially informed of such a contract.

I was so fond of Cell C, and I still am, but if this is what I have to go through, to pay for money I didnt receive services of, then I should just cancel everything. Period!

But that's the thing. Why do I need to take so much time and provide those documents? In all my years with you, why am I being billed for services I did not use? And a contract I was never informed of to start with? Why is it now my problem? After so many contracts that I have with you? No! I didn't sign up for this!

The ***** team needs to investigate what transpired first before the account can be closed, therefore the documents are needed for the investigation to commence.
