Data usage and inflated rates.

I signed up with Cell C for LTE service contract as FTTH was not yet available in my area. The deal was done for 200GB per month including a router. All this was done via telephone. The agreed monthly premium was then set on R899.00pm for 200GB. On average I only used 155GB per month. During October 2019 load shedding was in full force and every time after power came on it was a battle to get reconnected to internet services. Two days before the end of the month I realised that my data usage escalates drastically and all of a sudden I reached 200GB. This did not bother me to much as with finalising the deal in the beginning I have told the attendant to make sure the data is capped on 200GB. The next month I receive a invoice with an extra R1932.22 added. On request I was informed that this was for out of bundle usage, 2GB where used and that at a rate of R1/MB!!. On asking how this could be as the usage was supposed to be capped I was just informed they never had this request. The agent asked me to hold as she needs to listen to the original telephone conversation and in less than a minute she got back on the line to inform me that there was no such request but that the standard procedure is that the agent will tell the new customer to call in after the deal has been finalised to request the capping. Bull dust, the conversation took about 10min, how could she listen to all in less than a minute. On enquiring if the load shedding could have anything to do with this high usage it was flatly denied. Asking what happened to the monthly unused data of about 50MB/pm I was told it is forfeited! I pay for it is forfeited! Cell C bluntly refuse to ignore the 2GB out of bundle, reduce the charged rate or accommodate me in this sense. In the meantime my service has been stopped until I pay the full amount. Charging the over inflated rate of R1/MB, allowing the set usage to go over when supposed to be capped and forfeiting the unused date every month is nothing else than *****ing. I mean, I have paid every month for 200GB data but do not use all of it. So if they can not carry it over to the next month I should have been credited for that. Now that they busy going under they try to con users and ***** their money. Not acceptable at all. They lie when they sell the services. Surely the worst service provider in the country.

And still not a satisfactory response. Cell C avoiding any form of direct approach, just stating that unused data is forfeited and all kinds of reasons why I went out of bundle usage after I have requested usage to be capped. Customer service is of a very low standard and helping me as a client is not rated as a priority, and this after being a client for more than 14 years. In the meantime a operator calls in and offer new deals on one of the the other four existing contracts a I have with Cell C. Told her that I am not interested at all and that all existing contracts will be cancelled at time of renewal. There are other service providers as well in this field.
