Data Contract

Cellc is a whole ****!!

I have a data contract with Cellc - it’s been years now already. My old contract expired this year on the 17/03/2024. I decided to upgrade to a more data plan. So which meant that the new contract would kick in on the 18/03/2024. New contract is of 50GB(30GB anytime + 20GB nite) and the amount for this product package is R199 pm x24.

The customer service agent that initially upgraded me to this new contract mentioned that since I’ve been a loyal Cellc client, Cellc was now offering me a 53.44% variable percentage discount off this package. Meaning I will be paying R199 - R53.44%= R92.65. On the 23/02/2024 I asked for a copy of the contract. I asked for this contract because I know I’ve experienced bad communication and incorrect debit orders going off my account with my previous contract with Cellc and have had nothing to reference to. So now I have got evidence and proof of my renewal contract with all the above mentioned.

And when I asked for a copy, I was avoiding any discrepancies and issues surrounding my new contract. And guess what, exactly what I was avoiding is repeating itself with this new contract where I’m being incorrectly overcharged. Cellc is honestly a big ****. This is a breach of contract. This is not what we agreed on. This is a provider that is taking advantage of their customers loyalty.

Today I was in communication with one of their customer service agents (22/05/2024) regarding this amount that would be going off my account this month (27/05/2024) of R272.00 as I received a SMS reminder of my next debit order. Last month an amount of R243.84 went off my account. I did not notice this debit order, but when I checked the SMS I saw that I was also overcharged for the previous month of April/2024.

The customer service agent explained to me that I was on an open plan and hence why I’ve been charged this amount. I asked her to change my limit to R1.00 as I remember specifically that I do not want to be on an open plan as I’ve experienced being overcharged more than the agreed amount. She then proceeded to say in future R200.00 would be going off my account. I didn’t understand why because as mentioned above my package price is R92.65 due to the discount. On todays (22/05/2024) call I asked the customer service agent if I could open a contract dispute - case reference ***. This is absolutely unacceptable. I am not happy at all.

I must say that Cellc is just always wanting to take and take from their clients with no reasoning whatsoever. I have had instances where R600 plus minus would be taken off my account without any communication.

I want to continue using this network provider as I’ve been using this number for so many years. However, I will not accept being used and taken advantage of due to their lack of inconsistency and communication.

I will be waiting for your assistance in this regard. And will be back again on hello Peter to rely more feedback on the progress of this contract. To be honest, I’d never recommend you to anyone 0/10. To say I’m disgusted is an understatement.

Feedback.

I was called by the Cellc social media team and promised to listen to my call recordings. So the calls have been listened. And what the lady by the name of Mandisa makes out from all the calls is that, yes I did ask not to be put on an open plan so that my plan does not increase from being on unlimited calls line. And guess what, my plan still changed without an agreement. What she’s also not mentioning is the refunds that she told me they’d do once discovering all these things for being incorrectly charged. This was after a call I had with her on Friday, 24/05/2024. Then she goes on to say that however with my discount that the agent mentioned, it was not approved, but I have it in my contract. In the contract it mentions the discount and how much I’d be paying for the 24 months!!

So apparently the contract was changed and i was informed of the changes via SMS!! How do you make changes or change an agreement made telephonically and is on black and white paper (contract - which I have a copy of) over SMS?!! How??! I apparently didn’t qualify for the discount, but it’s in my contract!! Why was it even brought to my attention that I have this discount as their loyal customer. Why did the agent that signed me up tell me that I would be paying R92.65 x24 months. Someone needs to be held accountable for this error. I refuse to pay R199 x24 months. Imagine being promised something then it gets taken away. And yes, I did agree to paying the R199 x 24 months prior to mentioning of the discount, but my issue here is telling me that I have this discount, but not applying it through!! This is all the lies that I have telling you about. This service provider is a LIE! I unfortunately hang up because I was quite upset about all this as her findings are supporting all this behavior. Whether you have proof or no proof Cellc is built on a foundation of lies!
