Damaged device The Glen branch

Device was received damaged and this was reported i to Cell C at the Glen branch. After much difficulty, I was instructed to return the device to the store, which I did within less than a week of receiving it.

At the time of handing in the device, no reference number or documentation was provided. A week later, I had to personally follow up with the branch, only to be informed that the device had not yet been collected.

Once the device was eventually collected (as confirmed by the branch), I again had to follow up for feedback. Last week, I was simply given an amount of R8,740.00 for repairs and asked to confirm whether I accept it.

I queried whether it had been noted that the device was received damaged, and I was informed that it was reported as such. However, I was told that repairs just have a quotation(which i have not yet seen)

I then requested a formal quotation multiple times. To date, I am being told that the quotation cannot be opened on their side and just given the amount as stated above. which is unacceptable.

As the customer, I am now forced to follow up directly, as the store has been of no assistance throughout this process.

Upon reviewing the report you provided, it now reflects impact damage, as well as screen and battery faults. This is extremely concerning, as this is a brand-new device that has not been used — not even a SIM card was inserted — due to the dents identified upon receipt.

Even if I were to accept the device back without addressing the dents, there are now additional faults on a device that has never been used and is very concerning.

I am receiving no assistance from the branch, yet my debit order is due to go off soon, including a pro-rated amount for a device that has not been used at all.

This situation is highly frustrating, and I request urgent intervention to resolve this matter. I expect a fair resolution, given that the device was reported damaged upon receipt.

I visited the branch to speak to the manager who is just as useless as staff he also cannot assist and basically saod the device was dropped (The device has chops all around) Then only did the manager print out a report damage and once more cannot provide a formal quotation. I further enquired if they checked with their couriers as the device was just received in a courier bag with a single bubble wrap sleeve on

Also enquired if they had investigated on sign off as device left store or checked up with manufacturer are there checks done and did they even enquire or simply booked the device in as a normal repair without any investigations done

Again it is a brand new device I use an S24 and S25 which had never being so damaged by myself the S26 is brand new not even the sim card had been inserted into device and returned within a week of receiving.

And all Cell C can say is device was dropped and I have to accept the quotation of about 8K to repair or simply reject quote and take the device back.

Its almost a month now my debit order with the pro rated amount is due to go off and I have never used the device neither do I have it with me.
