Credit checked without approval

I was looking for a phone on the CellC website, found a Samsung A34 for R299 on 24month contract. Went to checkout and it was unsuccessfull asked to call 084135.

I called, told the deal was not available anymore. I said I have to check a different deal before I make a choice and will call again. Next day I get notified by Experian that a hard search was done on my report. I called CellC customer care and no one could give a reason why the check was done.

Just when I hung up someone from Cellc called me to ask if I am still interested in the fone but it will be R299 over 36 months. We did the whole contract info thing and she said everything was approved.

When I called them today I was told the application is still processed. If I dont get that phone by Saturday 29 April 2023 you can cancel the phone.
