Corporate Theft

Cell C are aiding foreign owned WASP content providers in fleecing South African consumers. It came to my attention that a company called Basebone claims I have subscribed to their services and I have been charged in the region of R1,200 (Cell C have consistently failed to provide me with information as to the exact amount) for a Game / App / Screensaver or some other bogus product they claim to offer. The declaration (3) in Cell C contracts gives them the right to deduct monies on behalf of these ************ operators and consumers need to be aware of this before they sign a contact with Cell C. When a problem like this arises you will get told to "Please contact them on ********** Basebone" This is a number rerouted to somewhere in the south of France and they are only a call center who promise to look into it. Reports to the self regulatory body that WASP's belong to is a complete waste of time and all the while Cell C - who are deducting monies on their behalf claim and accept no responsibility. They have also refused to provide information as to the contractual arrangement between themselves and these content providers as to what their cut of the collection fee is.
