Contract not in use but billed

The number in question ***

I had a contract with cell C. I stopped using the contract in September / October last year. Cell C told me that the contract owed money around December, I told them to cancel the contract as I was no longer using it and did not know where the sim was. the person on the phone told me to write a letter and fax it to Cell C. I told them that as I was on the phone with them they need to cancel it, and they refused.

I personally went to cell c in Jan/Feb and told them that the I requested this number to be cancelled. they said they will investigate. on coming back to me they said they said I must pay the R600. I told the guy that I will settle the 600 and they must cancel this phone.

To my surprise today I receive a call telling me I owe Cell C for this phone.

1. It is easy for cell c to sell you a contract over the phone but they cannot cancel over the phone, this is just a **** to ensure that you are locked into their contract
2. Why are you charging for a cell number that has not been in use over the past year??

I do not want a cell c contract, please hear that and cancel!!!
