Contract Bridging by Cell-C

I have given them 2 stars for now. However, if the following issue will not be resolved it will result in zero stars. First I want to thank Cynthia (assistant manager at Festival Mall Cell-C shop) for all her true and honest assistance and efforts to try and obtain the replacement device as well as attempting to connect to the internet with the home router device. The story: I bought a home router and 50GB anytime contract in August 2018. All were super well for several months until about 3 months ago (give and take). Suddenly I could connect with all devices to the home router but had no internet access. As soon as I put the sim card into a different router, bob was my uncle again and I could surf to heart's content. Endless and numerous frustrating phone calls later I was finally convinced to take the router in for "repairs". Being a technically inclined engineer for all my life, I must admit that I had no faith in the exercise. However, after a battle and a half to get my router sorted/fixed/replaced I eventually got a brand spanking new and exact same model home router. Before leaving the shop I insisted that the device be tested first. Took 3 hours and in the end I left with the device without being able to connect to internet - only to the router. Again, the Cell-C staff inserted the SIM card into numerous other devices and immediately could connect to the internet and surf. The Cell-C technician that Cynthia spoke to mentioned something that made my hair stand up. Cell-C started preventing connections for specific home routers that were TOO powerful and that apparently "prevent" other device from obtaining connections. If this is at all true, I want Cell-C to cancel my contract and to refund me the money paid to date. The whole issue with the problem I experience of not being able to connect to internet is most definitely the Cell-C service provider device. Instead of giving met then a replacement device that "adheres" to requirements, Cell-C now opted to pull an ostrich on one of their most loyal customers. Cell-C, you made the mistake by selling me a device "too" strong for whatever standard or requirement or tower sharing issue. Now YOU have to rectify the situation and replace the device with an appropriate other new device with the same functionalities. Else you are in bridge of contract (correction, you are already in bridge of our contract). I have not had the use of the contractual agreement that we entered into for several months now unless I use another device when and if the other device is available to me. This is not what I signed the contract and service for. To summarise: It is not the SIM card - it works in numerous other devices. It is not a depletion of data which was confirmed and proven by each and every Cell-C person I have spoken to over the past few months and I can still surf if I insert the SIM in another device. It is not the area I am in because the SIM card works from the same area but in a different device. It worked 100% for several months (+-5) with the initial home router and suddenly stopped working. One Cell-C staff member told me that Cell-C loads new firmware to devices without the customer being aware and that could have gone wrong on the initial router - my question is then why is the new router the same - or did it come out with the "blocking" or "broken" firmware version??? Please Hellopeter, assist in this regard to get an answer from Cell-C. I do not want to kick up a fuzz but are paying for a company whom is in contract bridge at the moment and whom claim that they cannot solve my problem. Cell-C can contact me via email to arrange for an appropriate and competent operator to advise further. Else I have to escalate this issue to more irritable citizens.
