Conducting credit checks without my permission
Last week, a cell c consultant called me from customer care regarding a contract and when I asked her when the contract expires, she told me November 2023. I then asked her why call so early and she didn't have an answer for me. He next day, I received a notification from the credit bureau that cell c mad ean enquiry on my name even though I specifically told the consultant that i was not interested. In any case, Today, 16 May 2023, I spent 39 minutes and 6 seconds and I was transferred to several departments tobhave the enquiry removed as it was done without my permission. I spoke to several consultants and when i got through to Amanda from customer care, she was one of the most horrible consultants, followed by the floor manager Bridget who tells me that it's okay to conduct credit checks on a person's name without their permission. She gave me a lame excuse about Cell C conducts checks before they contact clients. I informed her that such actions is ******* based on the fact that permission is needed from the customer for credit checks before proceeding. Cell C, get your house in order now, before this incident becomes public knowledge. I will now report this matter to the credit bureaus and they'll investigate to who this was as it seems that whoever I spoke to at Cell C didn't want to assist me.
