CellC want me to buy airtime, while I have a contract with 1000's of free minutes.
I've been trying to contact the medical aid for an important authorisation. I used the number provided to me--it's an 0860 number. When I dial the number from my phone CellC provides the following message "The number you have dialed DOES NOT exist". It's the same for all 0860 numbers... So I called CellC and they say I must BUY AIRTIME to call those numbers!?!
***! I pay for a contract and now you tell me, if I want to make a phone call then I must more airtime. That's the most ridiculous contract. It hasn't been like that in the past, and this change in contract wasn't communicated to.
This is an absolute joke. Fix my line so I can make those calls. The only way to handle this is take it to an Ombudsmans or Consumer tribunal. Companies are way out of line asking for more money outside of the contract fees. This is an absolute joke. They can't even get the message right. Another South African company being led by ***********, unqualified *****s.
Please ensure my line is clear to make these calls, otherwise I'll will have to escalate the matter to the consumer commission.

I'm still calling numbers and being told: "The number you have dialed DOES NOT exist". This is not just (0800..., 0860... 087...) numbers, it happens even when I tried to phone ICASA to understand how to lodge a complaint against CellC (that's a 012 number by the way). So there isn't a working telephony service on this CellC contract, yet they want me to pay them... What's the point...
I've had to purchase a Telkom sim, so I can have a working telephony service. I can confirm, when using the Telkom network, I can make calls to the numbers that CellC is adamant don't exist. Also, the quality of the calls are so much better on Telkom's network
I consulted an attorney regarding this matter: it's a breach of contract on CellC's part because they can't offer a functional telephony service to their client which is actually part of the contract. I must purchase an additional sim to be able to have a telephony service. Due to the fact that CellC are in breach, they have had an opportunity to remedy the breach over a two week period, I have cancelled the direct debit, and I will be taking the matter to the industry regulator.
