CellC - *****ulant SIM Sales??
My mother is a old and sickly 74 year old pensioner who was ******* on the phone to take out SIM cards. She informed me that her whole Pension (Sassa) goes into paying her CellC account leaving her with no money to buy food. After investigating this on her behalf, I found out that she has 9 (NINE) contracts in her name but only two are legit and used. One is a stranger that answers the phone when dailed and 6 don't even ring when dialing. She has never signed any contract for these. We went to a CellC branch in the mall and was told that they can't help us, we need to consult with the Call Centre. We telephoned the Call Centre and was told that she has agreed to RENEW these contracts until JULY 2026 and there is no way out. If she cancels the contracts she will need to pay a penalty of more than R14,000.00. This is SO WRONG! How can a single, widowed, pensioner be sold 9 SIM CARDS! She does not owe any business?? Can someone please tell me what the best way forward is here? Thank you. ***
