Cellc network migration to vodacom leaves customers on EDGE data services

I have 2 contracts with cellc and they have migrated us to rain on the vodacom network. However since we have been moved to the vodacom network we only have EDGE data services and cellc are unable to asssit us in getting our data services working correctly.

Surely if they want to retain customers and drop costs you make sure they when you move your customers to a better network infrastructure you test the migration to see that the customer experience isn’t downgraded.

I haven’t had EDGE since probably 2006 when 3G was launched never mind 4G.

Cell c tech support really need to up their game to make sure the customer doesn’t have a bad service when they moved.

Now we sit with not service and customer service don’t even know how to help the customer fix the problem. All they can say is we will log a call and we must wait 2 working days for assistance.

Shocking service for a company trying to survive the storm they in.

If they continue in this way they won’t have any customers.

I even went into a store and had the pleasure of meeting 3 other customers sitting waiting fro help with the same issue.

A network form and automated response doesn’t solve your issue. If you went into your system you would gather all the info you are now asking me to provide you again.

You know this is a network issue and not a device issue.

You have called logged on my numbers with all the info required to resolve this matter.

This response is simply a PR stunt to portray you looking out for the customer and care for the service. However all you doing is covering up the lack of actual service and accountability for the shocking way the migration has been done when you simply cut your users across and don’t have the correct network configurations complete in the backend.

Have have enabled the users to roam on vodacom but only on 2G network levels. It’s not a very hard concept to grasp. Your most junior network engineer should understand this theory and issue.
