In September 2021 during covid I received a call from CellC direct. My daughter's contract was due for an upgrade. I made I clear to the person I was speaking to, Ntombi, that it was an upgrade not a new contract. I usually take out 24 month contracts. My daughter subsequent to receiving her phone indicated that she was not getting data on her old number ***). When I received my statement a new number ***) appeared on my statement in addition to my daughter's old number. I queried this several times and was given the run around by the consultants (Ntombi;Thuleli; Nandi; Marcia; Ahlume - in no particular order) and was old I needed to downgrade her old package, port her old number, blah blah blah. Herewith the reference numbers associated with the calls I made - ***; ***; ***; ***. On 19th August we went to CellC Walmer Park to upgrade her contract only to be informed that her contract was actually a THREE year contract!!! I called in to the CellC customer care line and spoke to Lehlohonolo requesting a copy of the recording of the call when the contract when the 'upgrade' was processed. I explained what had happened and that it was the first time I heard that the contract was a 3 yr contract. I was told that it may be difficult to get the recording and that I rather open a ***** case with SAPS and then send an affidavit to ********, and show the deductions on my bank statement. When I indicated that I do not have time to go through all these steps when the fault was that of CellC having provided a new number when I had requested an upgrade. I requested to speak to a manager, and was then told that this matter was associated with the upgrade department. I was transferred, but actually disconnected. I called again and spoke to Mbulaheni (ref number ***), who indicated that he will have the manager review my case and then contact me. It is 31 Aug and I have not heard from anyone.
