Cellc - Billing for Content Services I did not register for

Hi my experience with Cellc in the past was the best and therefore been with them for over 15 years. But in the recent weeks I have lost confidence in them as a service provider. I currently have 2 contracts with them, and after a recent spike in my monthly billing I opted to upgrade the contracts owing to the fact the I made alot more calls and assumed that was the reason for the billing.Roughly two weeks ago, upon receiving their statement which I dont usually receive. I noticed an amount for R 1200 + for Content services. I immediately called Cellc to query this and was told I was registered to WorldPlay, Mira020 and Mira030 just to name a few. The call centre agent was very helpfully and said she will unsubscribe me and process a refund, and noted that I should also dial *133*1# and follow the prompts to also block my number from these subscriptions. In order to stop this from happening in the future. Which I did. I was extremely relieved and thought to myself, sticking with Cellc was the right choice, as my problems were being resolved. Then I get a call from Cellc yesterday 17/08/2017 . To inform me that they dont do refunds and I must call the relevant companies and deal with them directly. This is extremely unacceptable as that was not originally stated, also I did not give these companies my banking details, or create any debit orders with them. This I can only imagine was done through Cellc. Cellc had no right to add charges to my account without my permission. Further to that trying to get ahold of an Actual person to speak to at Worldplay , Mira020 and Mira030 has proved very difficult if not impossible. Cellc needs to stick to their original word and do the legal thing and refund my money.

Hi Dinesh

We have requested one of our team members to follow up on this matter and assist. Cell C does not register customers to any content services, anyway, you will be provided with clarity regarding this matter.

For such a big company like Cellc i would not expect a response like the one above especially the "anyway part". Like I stated i did not subscribe to these content services, I did not give them my debit order details to bill me. They were billed through Cellc, Cellc has my banking details, and Cellc is authorizing payment to them, not me. Your last agent told me to contact them and request a refund. I contacted Worldplay and the voice prompts only allows you to unsubscribe, and not speak to an actual person. If you are billing me, and they are billing you, you as Cellc has all their details and can facilitate the refund, I cant because i have no further information about them. CELLC OWN UP, AND GET CAPABLE PEOPLE TO RESPOND AND SORT THIS PROBLEM OUT. THIS IS EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE.
