CELL C'S WIN-WIN COMPETITION IS NOTHING BUT A NIGHTMARE
On the 15th of this month I received a call from Cell C to inform me that I had won a R1000 voucher in their Win-Win competition because I had recently upgraded my contracts with Cell C. I was told that I should wait for a call or an sms that was to come in the next 48 explaining how I was to go about claiming the prize. I was also given the number ***)to call in case I did not receive either the call or sms.
On the 18th on realising that there is no contact from Cell C I then phoned the number provided to inquire about the prize, the person who responded had no clue as to what should happen for me to get the prize, she asked a few flimsy questions, she then said she would escalate the matter to her supervisor and took my contact details with a promise that she would come back to me.
Two hours later she phoned to ask me what had I won exactly? A R1000 voucher or cash? That was baffling because by virtue of having my cell number it should be obvious to her what would be the nature of my prize. She then asked me as to whether didn't I received an sms on Friday at 14h00 that detailed how to claim the prize with a voucher number, if I had received the sms I would have informed her onset. When I rep**** that I did not receive the sms, she then promised to take up the matter with her supervisor and she would come back to me later.
Less than an hour she called again, same sms issue, this time she insisted that sms had gone out at 14h00 and how come I had not received it.What is even more strange is that an sms supposedly sent to me does not come through yet each time she phones me on the same number, I do receive the call, that seem rather odd to me unless the said voucher either never existed or has been diverted elsewhere. She the once again said she would speak to her supervisor, but this time she never came back which was not surprising to me because she was just clueless.
On the 21st and 22nd of September I made numerous calls on the 087.....number they had provided ,it rang once or twice then somebody hung up,so much for one's loyalty being rewarded by Cell C !
The problem I have with the whole issue is that Cell C initiated the whole thing, then all of sudden one is expected to call and be sent from pillar to post as if I am the one who initiated it. But at the same time walking away from the prize is not an option because if the prize has been awarded to me legitimately, then it has to be given to me without any runaround unless then of course the competition is ****
Thank you for making contact with Cell C regarding the competition.
Please note that the matter has been escalated and our team will call you to assist.
