Cell C’s system makes it impossible to cancel your contract.

So my contract expires the 14th April 2022. However I lost my job in June already so I tried to cancel sooner. First I went to the Cell C store in Keywest Shopping Centre ( anyone who’s been there will definitely go uh hu on what it’s like there ) Anyway I explain my story to the one guy ( this was on the last day of June )after he finished a conversation on his cell and ignoring the shop with at that time 4 people waiting to get attendant to. After which he promptly rep**** to come back on the 14th of July. Which I did. Then I got told they can’t cancel the contract in the middle of the month I have to come back at the end of July. I went back and got told they cannot cancel it there I must phone 084 143 . And then it went downhill fast. So the whole off August I try and cancel the contract with some of the worst excuses I’ve ever heard on why they can’t. I eventually got told they will cancel it in September as I have to give a month’s notice. So I go to the store on the 1st of September and got told how much I owe but have to dial 084 143 as they can’t do anything. So after going through the ritual you have to answer like all the reasons you shouldn’t cancel they eventually told me I have to pay R1377.27 So wanting to get this over with I do an immediate payment of R1380.00 And phone the cancellation centre again. I then got told to wait 3 days and phone back because that’s how long it takes for them to allocate the payment. I phone them on the 2nd and got told I have to pay another R1501.66 as this is the amount owing with penalties. So I do another immediate payment. The lady then said to phone back on the 5th again which I did. Then got told I have to pay R1862.31 to be able to cancel my contract. Again I made an immediate payment. So ever since then every time I phone to follow up they tell me that they cannot cancel as my first payment hasn’t been allocated as I paid R1380 instead off R1377.27 that I was supposed to. So until today I have mailed my proof of payments to a total of 14 individuals and departments with no joy ? They just don’t come back to you. So I asked the last lady I spoke how do you actually manage to cancel a Cell C contract because it is impossible...Firstly because of utter incompetence and lack of will to do your job. Secondly every time you pay what they tell you to pay you have to wait 3 days for it to reflect/allocated to your account and off course you then owe them 3 days money again. So you pay and wait every 3 days. I must admit I am in utter awe that they have survived this long and feel utterly stupid being a customer that averaged 2000 rand + every month with them since 2014.
