Cell C's pathetic and frustrating service

Cell C has been such a pain. I lost my contract cellphone and couldn't claim because of the type of insurance I had. Then was told I needed to settle my commitment amount or take a second contract to get another phone. I opted to to settle the account and paid over R4000 which I was told was the commitment amount. That was early August, then I called to check if they had received proof of payment and have allocated the funds to my account. Yes they had received payment but my account was still in Cr. I called them many times and eventually told them to close the account because another service provider has granted me a contract phone. They said I still need to pay more because they have loaded the monthly minutes to my Sim. But they did not Dr that amount, instead they took from the settlement amount that I paid them. It is now end of September and they have still not allocated the money to my account, which means I still owe them. I've been going back and forth to Cell C store and speaking to call center and cancelation department and it's just taking forever to settle the matter. Now they are telling me that I need to serve a 30 day notice on order for them to cancel the contract and my account still owes over R600 for the minute loadel it. The service is so pathetic, and they don't give your the full information on time then they load minutes, then want to charge you. What's worse is that as customers we don't even get refence numbers for record keeping. I'm so fed up and I'll just reverse the money when they Dr it, because the account should have been canceled long time ago.
