Cell C - Unsolicited Charges and lack of transparency
Downgraded my package, the consultant on the other end assured me that my last billing at the higher package would be on 28 March 2023. That never happened and I was charged for the full package on 28 April, again end of May, June and July. I queried this every month when receiving my bill. Reference numbers: ***; ***; ***; ***; ***; ***; ***; ***; ***; *** This is unsolicited charges, they will not give you access to voice recordings, I have been waiting since March. I have been charged full price and queried this every time. Same response over and over, 'it is being investigated'. In the meantime, Cell C continued to charge for the full amount (contrary to what was agreed) and if you query this and refuse to pay, they threaten you with lawyers. I paid to keep the lawyers off my back. Eventually, the only way top stop the MADNESS, was to change to Pay-as-you-go from contract, which I did. Cell C then had the audacity to have someone from retentions call me to enquire why I am leaving their network. I quoted the reference numbers and again, no response from Cell C. Just an automated email to rate their service on how well they solved my issue. I obviously scored a 3 which is lowest. No feedback from them since. Speaking to family and friends, I realized that there are more people unhappy with Cell C over the same thing. People just don't have the appetite to fight a big corporate and eventually give up and lose their money. This is corporate bullying, (and *****ing money from already cash strapped consumers). Save yourself of money, frustration, time and heart ache and rather go with another service provider. If you already have a contract with Cell C, word of advise; record the interactions with Cell C, because when the time for dispute comes, they WILL NOT give you access to their voice recordings. They don't do what they promise. This company is only interested in your money and how they can get the most out you. CAUTION, CAUTION CAUTION!!!

Again, go look at the 13 reference numbers relating to this query. It is a crying shame that consumers have to resort to Helo Peter to get a response from companies such as Cell C. Then again, looking at the Cell C rating on Helo Peter: 1,4 out of 5 as voted by more that 43k people, one should perhaps not expect too much.
