Cell C: Trying to cancel a contract proves to be impossible

On the 4th of April 2016, at 9:45, I walked into the Cell C shop in Somerset Mall to cancel my contract, and go over to prepaid. After a short wait in the queue, the consultant told me that she could not to it, but that I had to phone the call centre. She kindly phoned the call centre from the shop's phone. This would later prove to be a mistake.

I spoke to a cell centre agent, who put me through to the retaining department. The lady at that department told me I had to give one month's notice, which would mean my contract would end on the 4th of May. However, since my debit order goes off on the 1st of each month, that would mean I would pay for only 4 days. She advised me that it would make more sense if my contract expired on the 31st of May, since I ALREADY PAID FOR THAT MONTH (May). (this implies then that one does not pay for the month that passed, but rather for the month ahead?) I agreed to this, and that was the end of the conversation.

The 31st of May arrived, and I could still phone without loading airtime. (Cell C did deduct R220 from my account on the 31st of May) The same on the 1st and 2nd of June. I then called the call centre again on the 2nd of June. Sibongile in the retaining department told me that there wasn't anything logged on my account about cancelling my contract. I gave her the date and time of the call. Since I did not call from my own number, but from the shop's number, she said that there was not proof of that conversation. She said she will put in a request to trace the call. (It can't be that difficult? She had a date, time estimate and the Cell C shop from where I called??) I asked when I would know whether she has traced the call that will serve as proof of my initial conversation on the 4th of April. She said that I COULD PHONE BACK AT THE END OF THE DAY. At this time I was so tired of fighting, that I did not want to explain to her that Cell C had made the mistake and therefore Cell C had to call me back.

I phoned Cell C in Somerset Mall and asked from which number(s) I would have made the initial call. The lady supp**** two numbers. I phoned the retaining department again, and spoke to another gentleman (whose name I did not ask since now I was phoning from my own number and thus, hopefully these calls can be traced) and he emailed the numbers to Sibongile.

At 15:50 on the 2nd of June, I again phoned and asked to speak to Sibongile about the tracing of my initial call. She was busy with a call, and would return my call. And, can you guess, I'm still waiting for her to return my call. Today is the 5th of June.

1) Is anyone trying to trace the call from the 4th of April?

2) Will the person who did not log my cancellation be reprimanded for not doing her job?

3) Will Cell C take MORE of my money? Since,as I understood in the initial call, one pays for the month ahead and not for the month passed? So the money taken on the 31st of May will then cover any costs incurred during June?
