Cell C - ******* or just ***********?

I took out a Cell C Fibre contract in December (we were activated in the middle of the month). In January, I got told that my account is overdue and they are going to suspend the line. I had set up a debit order so I had no idea what they are talking about. The lady on the other side says okay, no problem if you have set up a debit order when you took out the account, it must be an error. But a little while later, I receive another call about it. I phone the consultant assigned to my account and she goes through all the material and it seems my bank details were captured incorrectly so the debit order kept coming back as unpaid. No one in the accounts department thought to give me a call and mention this. I just get threatening messages that they are going to shut down the service.

So to catch up, I make a manual payment of R1300 on 3 Feb. All okay, don't worry, we have changed the bank details and your account will be fine from now on.

Then suddenly two debit orders go off on the 16th of Feb totaling R1239.63. I send messages to find out what is going on and they say they will look into it. Then on the 1st of March ANOTHER debit order of R3411.53 goes off. I complain, email, phone etc. and the matter still hasn't been resolved. And lo and behold on 1 April they debit my account for a further R2347.99.

It is the end of the month. I have not been paid yet by my clients. So they have essentially taken every cent out of my bank account AND put it in arrears so now my bank is also contacting me about my account. I don't know many people who can happily give away R2000 at the end of the month without batting an eyelid. It was Easter Sunday. I could do NOTHING. Not go out, not put in petrol, not buy anything, nothing. The poor consultant who is assigned to me answered her phone and tried to help me but there is nothing she can do. I phoned her manager and her manager's manager. No one seems to give a damn that Cell C has ****** money from me. If I had money left in my account, no problem, we could have dealt with the problem on Tuesday. But they took EVERYTHING.

So I should have paid over about R4500 in total to Cell C for my fibre line since Dec 2017. Instead, they have received/deducted around R8300 rand. So, in essence, they have ****** almost R4000 from me. With no explanation, no follow up unless I followed up with them. And follow-ups were emails. 'Please see the email from accounts department below'. I don't care what your accounts department says. They don't run the company. You are a manager. Do your job.

So I sit here without a cent to my name because of *********** managers. I had fewer problems with TELKOM. That should really tell you something.

Then in addition to taking money that is not owed to them, from the 28th of Feb, the line has been cut or the line speed has dropped 11 times. I work from home. I have LOST money on those days. So they take money and lose me money.

What is Cell C going to do about the money they have taken from my account, the fact that my bank account is in arrears so my bank is contacting me, the days I lost business because the line was down and the time I have wasted trying to sort this out?

Is there any further feedback on this matter? It's been another 24 hours now and I haven't been contacted again or refunded.

It has now been ANOTHER WEEK and still, nothing has been resolved. Do I need to go to the police to lay a charge of theft? Do I need to get active on social media? What do I need to do to get this resolved??

Good morning Karyn

Sincere apologies for the delayed response. As per the last feedback that the consultant provided, a request for a refund was sent by CFibresupport to Finance.

We'll get someone to follow up on this and provide feedback.
