Cell C - The power is in YOUR hands

Took out a 24 month contract on a ****le on 20/2/2013. One would assume that the contract will run for 24 months and pay for 24 months whereafter the contract will be cancelled and payments stopped. This is not the case as I realised that for February 2015 R 299 was debited off my account and R 279 in March. The normal monthly payment was R119.00 per month.I called Cell C yesterday and Julia explained to me that after the contract expires, it still runs on a month to month basis with an increased monthly payment. Cell C did not bother to inform me that the contract expired or will soon be expiring and what the options or consequent increase in payments will be. To make it worse, I requested the contract to be cancelled and Julia advised that there is a notice period of 30 days which means that on 21/4/2015 yet another payment will be deducted from my account.This is NOT treating the customer fairly.I perused the documents I received when I took out the contract and nowhere it is stipulated that it is my responsibility to request the cancellation of the contract after expiry or what the options are.
