Cell C swim swap

I am so disappointed, I am so numb :(after using my cell number for more than 10 years now i need to change it because I am failing sim swap security check. I even went to the store and i was told that i cannot be helped because my number is registered with a passport which I do not understand because the number belongs to me .... That cellphone number is my life ;(
