Cell C SUCK!!
Complaint 1: (Not regarding my contract with Cell C
I purchased a prepaid sim card from a cell phone store 5 years ago which was never part of a contract and in July 2021 my sim card was swopped from a Pay as U Go to a Contract Sim without my consent or knowledge, upon investigation it was established that my Sim was activated as a data sim card on my father in law’s name on his contract with Cell C. I did request from Cell C why and how this was done without any documentation or authorisation from me or my Father In Law. They suggested that my father-in-Law cancel the sim and give me an Avadavat stating that this is indeed my sim card. He is in Durban, I am in Gauteng, he refuses to do that as he did not add the sim to his contract, is that not *****ulence from Cell C?
Cell C has completely cancelled my cell number due to him cancelling the sim on his contract. I cannot use my number anymore and my main problem is that I use this number for everything (internet banking, online shopping etc.) Now I do not know what the way forward is; the sim has been deactivated on Cell C’s system and they refuse to active it again on my name if I do not have the avadavat, I cannot get the document so as this was in error on their system, I cannot rectify this. This problem took CellC 4 months to resolve.
Complaint 2: Regarding my contract sim with Cell C
In July 2021 I received a phone call, where the person stated they are phoning from Cell C, and they would like to inform me that my account has been credited with just over R6 000.00. I went to Cell C at Carnival Mall and asked the lady to please confirm the phone call witch she did and from there I upgraded one of my contracts and said that the rest of the credit must be used for the next 2 months contractual payments.
Cell C did use the credit for the month of August, leaving me with the outstanding amount of only R502.98 as per the statement received also for the month of September, they tried to debit the full amount of R2 557.97 that was rejected due to insufficient funds in my bank (for the amount deducted, but there was enough for the R502.98 to be deducted).
Due to the debit order that bounced my account reflects in arears and additional bank charges was added to my already arrears account.
After multiple phone calls to the Cell C customer service line my problem has not been resolved. I even went to Cell C at Carnival Mall multiple times with no success. After trying that and not getting the problem fixed, I drove from Brakpan to Midrand Cell C Head Office on 7 October 2021, were I was assisted and was told that the mistake will be investigated and fixed.
I have not received any updates regarding this matter since the day I went to the head office. Now I received yet another statement showing that I owe Cell C R8 708.72 which is still incorrect, all payments was made as per the correspondence from head office and now they have suspended all 4 (four) Sim cards on my current contract with Cell C. This has a massive inconvenience as these sim cards are used daily for our Company and now no new customers or clients can contact us accordingly and we are losing valuable income due to this, yesterday I called them again regarding my account and today they suspended all services, 11 November 2021 and I still had no call from them, most probably because like every one else they cannot call me!!!
The problem is still at hand and no matter what I do, were I go or who I phone no one is fixing the mistake that Cell C made and now it is reflecting on my ITC report.
It is now 5 months later and after making additional payments my account is still not corrected and my lines have been disconnected for the second time.
