Cell C (staff) Sucks

Today I visited the Long Beach branch of Cell C to cancel my contract effective on the end date of 17 February 2020. Clearly the person who assisted me was half asleep as he paid no mind to the date of cancelation but canceled effective immediately. Why ask the question on the cancelation form if you're plan is to ignore it? Found this out when trying to log on this evening. 46 gigs of data cleared from my account and unable to log in. No one able to assist after hours.... What a surprise. So tomorrow I need to call and go through the whole explanation again because I'll be at work and unable to get to the shop to ask the person who helped me what they were thinking or not in this case. So irritated that words fail me.

I have just called the Longbeach Store to advise what had happened re the cancellation of my contract even though I stipulated on the form that the contract must be cancelled on the end date of 17 February 2020. The first lady I spoke to advised that the paperwork had been sent away so there was nothing they could do. When I asked how it was sent, I was told via email. My response was - then you do have a copy on email. Realising that I was not getting very far I asked to speak to the manager. After a short explanation (again), the manager advised that the contract was cancelled on the day the paperwork was sent through. So clearly my next question was why would there be a question on the form which asks from what date the cancellation should be effective if the cancellation happens when the form gets sent through regardless of what date is stipulated? He advised he would have to look into it and get back to me. He was however at the time busy with a customer and he was short staffed - is this possibly code for don't expect me to get back to you too soon? I need my account re-instated to the position it was in when I made the fatal error of giving 30 days notice of cancellation (as advised by a Cell C employee via telephone in the previous week). There was almost 50GB of data available to me and this needs to be reinstated until the end date of 17 February 2020. I'm quite shocked at the inefficiency of Cell C staff.  I am loathe to share my ID no on this forum . Does the number not give you all the information - ***?

So surprise - no resolution to this matter....... This after talking to someone from the Social Media Department who advised that a call would be logged with the technical team as they would have to look at the exact amount of data still available when the account was incorrectly cancelled. They further advised that they would credit me for the days that I had paid for that the account was not active and they would call the next day to update me........ I'm almost sure when you use the words "next day" that means the day after the day you had contact. I could be wrong so perhaps I need to check the definition of "next day" in whatever book of definitions will tell me that it actually means "never"! Shame on you Cell C - this mistake was made by your staff. The very least that should have been done was to resolve the issue as soon as possible and take responsibility for creating a great deal of inconvenience for one of your customers. Clearly in this instance the customer is not king but merely an irritation to be ignored in the hope that it will go away. Not only have you lost a customer who may have come back to Cell C in the future but this customer will definitely not be recommending Cell C to anyone.
