Cell C Somerset Mall

I ordered an iPhone 17 from Cell C Somerset Mall three weeks ago. Two weeks ago, on a Friday, the consultant Noma confirmed via WhatsApp that my phone had arrived. I told her I was in Kimberley at the time, and she promised to keep the phone aside for me. I made it very clear that I would drive through the following Friday to fetch it, as I live in Paarl.

On Black Friday — dealing with heavy traffic and travelling all the way from Paarl — I messaged her at 07:45 to say I was five minutes away and slightly late. Only then did she tell me that her manager “couldn’t keep it anymore,” despite reassuring me just days before that the phone was still waiting for me.

This is completely unacceptable. I honoured my side, drove a long distance, and re**** on her written promise. Somerset Mall Cell C clearly does not value their customers or their commitments. I would not recommend ordering a phone from this store — you may never receive it, even after they confirm it’s available.
