CELL C - Shifting Goal posts

I am not at all happy. I app**** for a contract on the 22nd of April. I initially wanted a huawei nova 8 but was informed that it was out of stock. I then settled for the Nova 9A as I needed a device urgently and availability of this device was confirmed and would apparently get to me between 3 - 7 working days. I received a call on the 24th - the lady verified my delivery address and I thought to myself- this is fantastic, my phone issues would be sorted quickly.

I have been waiting anxiously for delivery and ensuring that I remain within close proximity to the delivery address. So today I thought to call to find out about progress on delivery. To my disappointment, I was told that my order was only finalised on 28th of Feb and delivery can not be arranged as the device is out of stock. The consultant could not give any indication as to when I can expect to receive my handset.

I thought cell c would solve my cellphone woes timeously - I WAS SO WRONG. I am heavily dependent on a phone for my employment and this delay and lack of communication is adding strain to my employment. Someone should have called to communicate this newly arising matter of no stock so I too could better see how to remedy my situation. So now I must just sit and wait in bated breath for stock that no one can even tell me will arrive when. Surely this can't be right.

I am not happy at all

Thank you for your response but then this doesn't really help me or give me any clarity or resolution to my issue. As=s things stand i am working from home and am unable to work as i am still waiting for my device to be delivered.

I specifically settled on this phone purely because availability was confirmed.
Could this lack of stock have not been discussed with me? then perhaps i could have explored the option of changing the device to one which you do have in store? or even doing a walk-in application. It is not right that as a consumer i only get told this following my own follow up. Surely you can understand that in this day and age ones general functioning is impacted by not having a phone.

And to really now have to sit not knowing if and when this issue will be resolved is totally disheartening and unacceptable. What makes matters worse is it seems i am really just expected to wait when no one even knows how long that wait will be. Is this what i am expected to communicate to my employer? does it sound acceptable to you ?
