Cell C service stinks
I have been Cell C customer for the past 30 years, if not more.
On the 12th of March 2020 I decided to upgrade from my 'old style' AG phone to a Samsung A2 swipe phone which I purchased from my local Ackermans store. Not being fami**** with this type of phone, it took me a few days to realize that a) the phone only worked on speaker phone, and b) I had no speaker connection on video calls.
On the 31st of August I took the phone back to Ackermans, who duly returned it to Cell C to be fixed. After numerous calls and visits to Ackermans, I was informed that the problem(s) with the phone were due to my having damaged the phone, and that I would have to pay for it to be repaired. No cost of repair was mentioned. My phone calls to Cell C to resolve this issue were met with the usual circuit of pillar to post transfers and unreturned messages. I then went back to Ackermans and said "OK, just get my phone back for me and I'll live with a phone that doesn't work properly and I'll see if I can get it repaired by my local cell shop who may be able to get it sorted out." All attempts to have my phone returned to Ackermans have so far not produced any results. The manager now says he can only wait until a Cell C representative visits him before he can take this matter any further. I take my hat off to the manager for his perseverance and diplomacy in dealing with this matter, but Cell C gets a -0 for their non coming to the party.
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.
We sincerely apologies for the unpleasant experience. It is not the norm at Cell C. We will refer this matter to our Support Team. Do expect our call.
