Cell C - ****med into taking a WI-FI router contract

I've always been a loyal Cell C customer. On the 19th December I went to a Cell C store to cancel and not renew my contract which will expire at the end of January 2018.

on my way to Eastern Cape on the 20th December I noticed that I cannot access any app although I had data on my phone. I called the customer service line at about 22:53 and asked them to check what is wrong with my phone. I was told that everything is fine and I must restart my phone and if the problem persist I must call the technical department the following day. I restarted my phone and still I could not access any app.

On the 21st I made several calls to customer services and the technical department between 6:30 to 7:00 and again at 10:00 and 13:48 and no one could assist me. And I was told that the problem might be with the phone and I was advised that I must take my phone to the nearest Cell C branch. On the 22nd December I went to the BT Ngebs mal at Umthatha where an assistant tried to help for almost an hour and also couldn't assist me. She then connected my phone via her mobile hotspot and my phone worked. She then advised that I take the Wi - Fi router contract and I took the contract, then I could access apps on my phone.

On the 23rd I phoned the Cell C customer service line and I was assisted by Ntombifuthi Ngwenya who resolved the issue within a minute and my phone was working without being connected to the WI-FI router and without transferring me to the technical department.

Cell C ****med me into taking a contract, some settings or functions were deliberately disabled so that my phone could not work properly. Now I'm stuck with a 24 months WI-FI router contract which I would not have taken if my problem was resolved on the 20th December.
