Cell c ruining my credit score
In November I wanted to terminate my data contract with Cell C and I was told to pay the cancellation fee to discontinue the service. I paid the cancellation fee on the 24th of January sending another email with POP referencing the cancellation. But Cell C decided to take it as my monthly subscription bill (I only realised this today 1 November 2021) however I do not believe received any data the following month in February. End of feb Cell c debited my account again so this time I informed my bank to reverse the debited amount as I had terminated my contract and I wasn’t receiving any data so my bank comp**** as such.
In march I started getting emails saying my account was in arrears confused I called cell not once but twice to find out what’s happening? In one of those occasions after waiting 30+ minutes for a consultant the consultant couldn’t explain why this was happening and put me through to Edgar’s. When I asked the Edgar’s people why they put me to Edgar’s , they informed me it’s very common for cell c consultants to do that. Even in the other instance when I called them, a different cell c consultant told me to ignore the emails I’m getting informing me that my account is in arrears because on her side when she checks on the cell c system I don’t owe anything.
Only on the third call again after waiting for over 30 minutes was it explained to me what had happened. This was in July there about.
After speaking to the manager she assured me that she will sort this out and that she will open a case and assign someone to my case to investigate what happened. Days turned into weeks. Weeks into months still no one was assigned to my case. This special investigator/ agent was supposed to get back to me within 48 hours from my conversation with the manager mind you. And my credit score kept getting worse. Feeling deflated, I finally conceded and decided to pay the settlement fee again. But I still wanted to have my credit score fixed and have them undo their mess because this was no real fault of mine. Again I was told they will write an email to one of their departments and they will give me a case number and someone will come back to me soon. Days have passed, case number after case number, emails upon emails and still no one has called or gotten back to me and my account still shows as in arreas on my credit report.
To anyone reading this steer clear of cell c contracts. If I could sue I would.
I want my credit score to be fixed by their lawyers. They should have investigated this matter before acting on their information. I’ve been very diligent with my finances and never missing payments so I can have a good credits report. All these missed payments showing on my credit report have undone my good efforts and must be corrected and removed.
