CELL C RIP-OFF - cell c contracts doesn't end

My sister took a contract for P40 with CELL C in 2020 and upgraded to a Huawei Nova 8i in 2021. Contract's duration was 24 months, and it was supposed to end January 2021.

My sister paid the last instalment and was happy to have paid-up her phone. In April she gets a call from debt collectors without even a call from Cell C informing her of the outstanding bill.

The debt collectors couldn't explain the history or the reason for this billing. They were all about collecting the outstanding money.

My sister phoned Cell C and was told that the contract continued after the agreed 24 months. my sister asked the agent how come because the duration of the contract is 24 months, and she hasn't consented to continuing with the contract.

Who took that decision to continue with the contract without her consent? The Cell C agent told my sister that she should have written a cancellation letter one month before the contract ends. How ridiculous is that. Other service providers call you towards the end of the contract to ask if you'll continue or cancel but cell c decides for its clients, without giving the client a choice. No one can answer, Cell C will tell you on their side the account is closed, as it was already handed over. They cant even send you a statement or invoice as the account is closed on their system

Who protects the consumers from these vultures, its sad. My sister has now been listed on credit bureau without any statement or invoice notifying her of the debt

Cell c is a rip-off, run.

They are desperate for business and they overcharge their existing clients unnecessarily.

I will have to call the call center again and explain the story over and over again and no one will be aware of the massage you have just written on Hello Peter, promising help.

There is no private massage i received from cell c or any private massage to my sister. Please my matter is still not resolved. I have not been privately massaged by cell c. They are running away again. My sister's name is listed and for cell c's negligence... Its truly unfair that a business so big can suck money ********ly from poor struggling society.

Cell c hasn't sorted the matter, 48 hours long passed. They called my sister and promised to sort out the matter by last tuesday, but now they are quite again. Cell C takes advantage if the poor society... I will have to take this matter to the ombudsman if not resolved by ninday 18th September 2023.

Still no help from CELL C.

Promises and promises to push the matter but nothing is happening. My sister is listed for a debt of a contract phone that expired and she never gave consent to continue with the contract but CELL C decided on her behalf to continue billing after contract ended.

No one is doing anything. They only call to promise but not deliver.
