Cell C billing process is ridiculous. The most customer unfriendly process I have come across. When I signed up with them for fiber at my home they said that my debit order will go through my credit card. The fact that they don't consider is that the credit cards expire and new are issued. So when my credit card expired and I got a new one the payments obviously stopped going through. They waited for 3 months to inform me of this but they failed to tell me that firstly they will suspend my service and they blamed the payments not going through on my bank. Never asking whether my banking details have changed. I was thoroughly confused because I know for a fact that there is no problem with my card and with funds availability. So when I spoke to their call center today they said to me that they can only resolve this by tomorrow and that means that I will not have internet connectivity for 5 days. It is so simple for their systems to check the expiry date on the card and have an agent call to update the details or even inform the customer a bit earlier that the payments are not going through enough days before they have to suspend the service. But no. They shed responsibility by sending SMSs and emails that I have never received and blaming the bank. According to them it is my responsibility to inform them that my credit card details have changed, like I have nothing to do every day other than checking to see if my credit card details have changed. When you ask them how they can help now they hide behind internal processes which frankly as a customer I couldn't care less about them because the fact remains that I don't have internet.
Good morning Dimitris
Many credit card companies send out a notification and a new credit card in the month leading up to the expiration date on your existing credit card. Other companies send out letters or emails asking if you would like to renew. You were supposed to notify Cell C about this and the necessary arrangements would have been done accordingly. It is the same as changing your banking details, the customer notifies Cell C if there are any changes in their banking details.
