Cell C - Prison Sentence, because of Trust!!

I thought I would give Cell C 'my cellular phone network provider' a chance to redeem themselves and not write this reveiew but it is with extreme, disapointment, disgust, frustration and utter shock that it has come to this.

In February 2017, I walked into the CELL C branch at the Pavilion Shopping Centre, Durban KwaZulu Natal. My intention was get my cell phone fixed as it had 'frozen' only after a year of purchasing it, I was unfortunately not helped with this regard but now I see this was just a plot to keep me in this horrid 'prison ' of a network. Long story short the young Sales Man did his best and convinced me to take another contract as they 'could not fix my phone. In the lovely 'Pincle Promotion" they were running I was given a R 2000 voucher (another scheme from Cell C). On this same day I informed them that my mother's contract had come to an end and I requested them to close the contract. They instructed me that they would, but they did not inform me that i needed to call their head office and action it on that side.

The first month went off and I paid for mom's contract which ' was suppose to be terminated as it had come to an end' I had to pay, not only so but she was not receiving those benefits. When I quetioned this I was informed that I was suppose to call the head office, so I did and the following month even though I had cancelled and called the money still went off my account.

Now it was not only that but it was also the new contract, the young sales man at Pavilion shopping Centre made my contract an open line ( although I instructed that my line be capped - this means that I only use what is available and nothing more) , which over charged me even when I did not use the phone. So for a whole month I did not use the phone, just to prove my point and guess what? I was right! I was yet again over charged for absolutely nothing!! I went into the store again, they did the process again of 'capping my line' and I had to wait another month. So last month I intentionally made sure I had no money in my account, as I cannot handle this ******* anymore,!! So I called the head office again , even requested that the matter be escalated to Management, but no-one called me, (although they claim they did). I informed them I will not be letting them ***** my money like this, I work hard for this money, I am a mother I have a family look at the economy everything is expensive! I cannot have CELL C *****ing money I worked hard for. So I requested that I be downgraded to a TOP UP, this was the classic they refused last month even when I had decided to manually deposit the money that I did not pay, they said they I don't qaulify!!!! Because there was no money when they did a debit order!

This was not the end of it, so I requested this be escalated again, nothing was done. So today I was called and I informed the young lady by the name of Mabure reference number : ********** ********** 3 at about 12:29. Who was very helpful but could do with some training, she informed me if I want to downgrade, I have to pay R 3107.00 odd rands, this is the penalty for 'down grading' and I have to pay back the ' gift voucher'! I was appalled! Pay for a gift voucher, which was not even a gift it is actually part of the contract. I say this because when I asked her what is the value of the phone she was not sure either!

So either way I'm *****ed with CELL C so I informed her again, that I need this matter escalated, I will not paying for a voucher which is part of the cost of the phone, I am in marketing I know how this works. The 'free vouchers are not free' it's the oldest Marketing Strategy! You get the voucher but you pay for it. So I'm stuck in this Prison CELL C because I trusted them as a Cellphone network provider to get me the best deal, and for us not to ***** each other up.

So CELL C, forget it I will take this up with legal and Ombudsman!! This is not the end of me! I will not pay the for the 'voucher' you say you want to charge me for downgrading! Are people reading this? So you literally cannot get out of your contract? What if you are an individual who is financially battling and cannot pay but want to do the right thing and live within your means? Things and circumstances change, look at our country? look at how many people are without jobs, how many people have declared themselfs bankrupt, are on credit bureau? Yet you deny the opportunity to down grade, you over charge on services not provided, you know nothing about customer service? You charge me for wanting to downgrade, a ridculous amount so that I do not do it???? Not today CELL C not today.

We are in Prison ( CELL C Prison) , we serving a sentence because of Trust!!
