Cell C Paying for 6 Months of No Service – Cell C Ignoring My Complaints

Dear Cell C,

I am writing to formally request a refund for a data-only SIM contract I took out at the Somerset Mall branch. The SIM worked as expected for the first three months, but since early 2025, it has become completely unusable. I no longer receive a 4G signal or any reliable coverage, making it impossible to use the service I’m being billed for.

Despite this, I have been charged every month for a service I haven’t been able to use for over six months. This is unacceptable.

I have made every effort to resolve this:

Logged approximately 10 support tickets.

Visited the Somerset Mall store over 7 times — an 80km round trip each time.

Dealt repeatedly with the same store employee, who failed to log complaints properly.

Spoken to the store manager, who admitted they couldn't help and advised escalating this online.

I’ve wasted time, fuel, and energy chasing a resolution that never came. Promised callbacks never happened. I’ve been left paying for a service that does not work.

At this point, I am cancelling my Cell C contract and returning to MTN. What I am now demanding — and rightfully so — is a full refund for the last six months of charges for a service I could not use.

Please escalate this to someone with the authority to process this refund and take accountability. I expect cell c head office to try and fix this mess.
