Total ******* - Cell C can give any ******** a run for there money. After 1 of my 3 contracts expired with Cell C in December, I was notified by Cell C that, because it is now out of contract, my price for the package would increase from R320 odd to R990, unless of course I choose to renew the contract. However this contract was for a data package, and since I had fiber installed I no longer required the packaged I chose to cancel instead . And theres the RUB. After numerous attempts to speak to Cell C , each time failing the security questions they require to access my account, 5 months and R5000.00 rand later, I eventually find out why I am failing the security questions. Cell C has an address that I have not Resided in for 30 odd years, and because I have 3 different accounts, not all have the same debit order dates. At this stage I would like some one to remind me when the RICA act came into play, according to my memory we were forced to update our details at that time, This is a 30 month old contract, not a 30 year old contract, When taking it out I had to supply Proof of residence not older than 3 months old, this by the way as per the Cell C customer support officer, is only so the courier dropping the goods off can confirm your i.d. In Short I was unable to cancel this contract for 5 months, did not need or use the service for 4 months prior to that, and am currently out of pocket R5000.00. All because I was unable to answer security questions because of false information they have on there system, strange thing though, on the 15/05 I managed to and was assured they had changed my 30 year old address to my current one, yet on the 16/05 when they contacted me it had somehow reverted back again. So once contacted - you can not cancel = nice profits they have informed me that, as soon as they have stole another R999 at the end of this month, they will be so polite as to cancel.
Best regards,
