Cell C Obtuse Service Advice

Unfortunately, the requirement is to rate the level of stars but in my opinion Cell C do not deserve 1 star. I had a contract which expired in 2017 but I kept the contract open until I will need a device as their contract pricing is reasonable. On 13July 2020 the need for a device arose and I upgraded the contract. Upon enquiring with the consultant regarding insurance, he advised that I will be contacted telephonically to activate the insurance. Two weeks later my husband was hijacked, and the phone was taken by the ******s. We reported the case to SAPS and went to Cell C store where the contract was activated. The consultant then activated the insurance and told us that we can claim after the first paid for the insurance is debited. the debit went off at the end of September and as advised lodged the claim with the insurer. Today I received a call from Cell advising that the insurance claim was rejected, and we were advised that the rejection was due to insurance being activated after the phone was ******. I have advised the caller that I will be lodging a claim with the insurance ombudsman and I will require the letter of rejection from the insurance company and there is no letter of rejection. Upon checking Cell C system, the insurance has been cancelled yesterday and after ending the call I receive a sms stating that I have cancelled the insurance which I have not done. Now, as customers we tend to follow the advice of sales consultants and if a consultant employed by Cell C can advise this type of information then clearly Cell C is the wrong service provider for me. I currently have 3 running contracts with Cell C of which the next contract expires, not upgrades in January which I will cancel. I will never take out a contract with Cell C ever again and I will advise every person I know to avoid Cell C like a plague. I would rather pay a steep price for a contract to receive the best service and advice from their competitors.
