I signed up for a 50gig lte-a contract at R289 per month - Sim only deal.
When the guy that called me to confirm that my contract was approved and ask me for my delivery address, I specifically asked him to make the contract effective from 1 November 2018.
He was like no they cant do that and they will bill me a proportion of my subscription for the days remaining in the month.
I received the sim card yesterday, 29 October 2018.
Whereafter I received an sms that a 50gig was loaded onto my account.
My kids started using the data and today, 30 October 2018, one day later the wifi stopped working.
I call cell c to ask whats happening and they indicated that I owe them R800 for using 5.4gigs
They proportioned the data for the remaining days and the excess has been billed out of bundle.
I had a credit limit of R1000 odd.
Now my grievance is as follows:
1. Why was i not informed of the credit limit and ask to approve such a limit during the sale process?
2. Why did cell c send me an sms indicating 50gig was loaded and that wasnt true?
3. Why am I liable for R800 when I only used 5.4gigs?
4. Why didn't cellc just give me the 50 gig bundle and bill me the R289 as I signed up for?
5. Surely a client needs to be informed of there limit in advance?
6. Imagine if the limit they set for me was R100k? Would I then be liable?
7.I have spoke to around 8 cell c people and they all clueless and dont know how to resolve the matter keep putting me onto the next person.
If I dont receive a satisfactory solution I would like to cancel the contract within the first 7 day's.
Surely the NCA was not adhered to here as I did not even know the limit.
My understanding was R289 and once 50gigs used up it would cut off and we would need to wait for next month.
Can someone from cell c please contact me urgently
Best regards,
