Cell C Legal Department Non Existing / Stay away from Cell C
Cell C 's legal department is non existing. I was retrenched in 2016. I informed Cell C immediately of the retrenchment. Made payments with my UIF money which I only received payments for 6 months. The second last month of my UIF payments I informed Cell C that I would make a last payment the next month. I was told that they could not log a case for me because my monthly instalment was less than R500. I must wait until my account is outstanding with more than R500 then they would be able to log a case for me to assist me with the fact that I am retrenched and cannot pay. After two months of not making a payment I contacted Cell C to get them to log a case for me. Then I was informed that there is no such thing as logging a case. I need to make a payment and if I do not make a payment I will be handed over for payment. Again I contacted Cell C and asked please how can we resolve this for I do not want to get a bad credit record. They just could not help me. Then the second thing I was battling with was for them to cancel the debit order on my account. Every month they send through the debit order on my account and when it was send back by the bank for non payment Cell C charged me R70-00 for the non payment and my bank charged me R150-00. Today I am sitting with lots of bank costs because of this. I was told on various phone calls to take my retrenchment letter together with my id to my nearest Cell C store and to e-mail the documents to customer service in order for them to stop the debit order. After more phone calls still the debit order was not stopped. I then contacted the customer service and requested to speak to someone in the complaints department. Their someone assisted me and assuring me that my account was changed from a debit order going off my account to an eft account in order for me to make an EFT payment when it was possible for me. Soon after I received various e-mails from the attorneys informing me that I was handed over for non payment on my Cell C account. I told my whole story to the attorneys who only informed me that I needed to make payment or I will be black listed. I then got help and made the payment for the outstanding amount according to the attorneys. I confirmed twice with the attorneys what the outstanding amount was and when I make the payment if my account would be rectified and my phone reconnected. After payment was received by Cell C and the money reflecting in their account I was told that there is still another R300-00 outstanding on the account. I was referred back to the attorneys for them to confirm what the R300-00 was for. The attorneys told me that I needed to speak to Cell C for the files was send back to Cell C and the case is now out of their hands. Now nobody at the call centre can tell me what the R300-00 is for they keep on referring me to the LEGAL DEPARTMENT of Cell C. Well I am starting to think that Cell C does not have a LEGAL DEPARTMENT because you hold on for the LEGAL DEPARTMENT for an hour plus and still no one is answering. I contacted the call centre again and asked to speak to someone in the complaints department. I was informed that Cell C does not have a complaints department. I then decided to get a prepaid sim card. Just to find out that my phone are not registered on the network. Nobody can assist me in this regard but the LEGAL DEPARTMENT. I then went to the Cell C store again to find out about the R300-00 outstanding and the phone that is not registered on the network. I was informed that according to their system there is no money outstanding and they cannot see why the phone is not registered on the network. I then also found out that my account was still on a debit order and was never changed to an EFT account. The agent at the Cell C store contacted the call centre who also confirmed that from what they can see there is no money outstanding and they cannot see why the phone is not registered on the network. Guess what I was again told to contact the LEGAL DEPARTMENT. The agent in the store also said that he at once had to hold on for the LEGAL DEPARTMENT for THREE HOURS, YES THREE HOURS before they answered. So now I have paid my account but has a phone that I cannot use and I do not know why. I might be again be handed over to the attorneys for R300-00. Therefore my advise is stay away from CELL C!!!!!!
