cell c just changes debit order

Please tell me how it is possible if you sign a contract for 24 months and a debit order form and and then in January Cell C has a price increase and increase your debit order

Surely this is not in form with the consumer act - never heard of that before where you sign a contract at a fixed amount and then the supplier has a price increase and changes your debit order

Their reply - we sent smses???????????///

Hi Vanessa

In terms of your subscriber agreement with Cell C, as well as the Consumer Protection Act, Cell C has the option of varying any of its charges from time to time, by means of publishing an amended tariff plan and submitting such tariff plan to ICASA, and by informing you before any of these charges are varied.

Communication was sent on the 22nd December 2016 notifying customers about the changes.
