Cell C - Is the C for Carelessness or ****?

I have reported network issues to Cell C numerous times in the last couple of months. After several responses with promises of call backs after investigating the issue and never getting that second call (thankfully I wasn't holding my breath) I figured out that it seems to be a problem with my router. After informing them of the issue I was advised to take my router to the nearest Cell C store for a software update. Imagine my disappointment when I drive all the way to the Cell C store in Hartbee****rt just to be told that the ONE guy with the magical ability to perform the update is out for the day - no one knows when he will return. I should come back some other time...

Firstly, I am amazed that all the staff at the store are not trained to perform duties such as software updates, what if this one special guy quits or moves to Silicon Valley to pursue his dream of becoming the number one software updater in the world? What will they do then? I get goose bumps just thinking about it.... If Cell C does not see it fit to train all staff to do simple tasks, maybe in the very least, train 2 people to do it. So that when the special guy has a fever and decides to stay home and watch Game of Thrones, there will be another "Almost-as-special" guy or girl who has the ability to take over, we know it won't be the same but at least things will get done.

Secondly, being told to come back some other time is almost as vague as being told "The answer to 10 x40 is also a number" Do people think it is appropriate to tell customers in no uncertain terms "Hmm, I see you just wasted your time and petrol driving all the way here, why don't you make a second attempt at some other point in time in the future and possibly waste your time and petrol again. Thank you." - I paraphrase, but you get the point.

Finally, if all of this seems too much for Cell C to handle maybe create a Facebook page for the special guy so that when customers like me take the time out of their day to attempt to get things done and solve unnecessary problems we can first go onto his page and see whether or not he is in. Maybe even message him to ask whether he will set aside time out of his day to help the sad folks with outdated routers.

Dear Cell C

Thank you for the vague response - the response I was hoping for was something more along the lines of "We will notify you when the special guy is in, or give you his working ours so that you do not have to waste any more time or petrol driving to the store just to find him absent agin."

Solid answers are way more informative and more appreciated than vague ones

If I could give Cell C 1 star again I would. My complaint was on Monday. I received calls from Cell C and was told that the router would be fixed. I was even asked to amend my review, which I then did. I should have known not to change anything until Cell C fixed the problem. It is Thursday and I still have the same problem, because after not hearing from the people supposed to fix it, I asked them yesterday. Turns out I got more vague answers. Thanks for all the empty promises!
