CELL C IS TERRIBLE AND AGENTS ARE LYING TO GET SALES

Cell C is the WORST AND THAPELO A LYING AND MANIPULATIVE EMPLOYEE OF CELL C.

This is what transpired: In 2024 November I was approached by Cell C online store for a contract, and because I had always wanted to buy my 11 year old daughter a cellphone I was interested. He asked my budget, I said not more than R300 as this is what I can afford. He said there is a Samsung A55 that goes for R249 for 36 months, He told me I was approved and that I will receive my phone in 7 working days. I waited and waited nothing and when I tried to call and check how far is the phone, I was told A55 is out of stock, there's an A35. Eventually upon following up I was told sales department is closed. In January I saw a credit enquiry made by cell c on my credit beaureau, I disputed it. Shortly after in February, one day a phone was delivered to me by courier at work, it was Samsung A35. I took the phone as I have been long waiting and not knowing what was going on. By the end of February, cell c debited R418 from my account. I called and enquired as I expected R249, I was told because it's the first installment, there are other charges for initiating the contract. March is when I realised that No! I was given false information. I lodged a complaint, it dragged forever for correspondence and cell c kept debit. I realised how this is hurting my finances and I started reversing it because as initially mentioned I could only afford R249. In June/July I was called and informed that Cell C listened to the recorded phone call and it has been verified that indeed the Agent by the name of THAPELO gave me wrong information regarding the phone, however they are waiting for their back office to adjust my monthly installment. Things turned when I demanded that Cell C put to halt collection until this issue is resolved. The same THAPELO called and said cell c cannot do any adjustments, system doesn't allow them I must pay the contract by end of contract I will be reimbursed. What they do not understand is that I cannot afford that amount and I was clear from the beginning. Now this THAPELO guy is trying to intimidate me and saying I should've returned the phone, how would I have known under these circumstances and if the information was correct why is it not R249 as agreed. In my understanding there's no binding contract between me and cell C because I was signed under false information. My biggest frustration is my credit profile. Cell C is ruining my life. I gave them a chance for 7 months.
