Cell C is cheating it's clients

I had an interesting encounter with Cell C regarding billing.

Last month my bill was higher than expected and I inquired with Cell C. They told me that I have subscribed with Whatsmob and I was billed R15 per day.

Cell C helped me to unsubscribe and subsequently block my number from any further subscriptions. I inquired how this happened and I was told that I did it through a popup over the internet.

Having billed over R350.00 for this, I became very concerned and logged another query on hellopeter.com. I then received a call from Cell C and they forwarded an email to the provider. This provider send me communication they sent to me about my subscription. The first sms told me about the subscription, and since I have not subscribed to anyone, I ignored it.

On Sunday afternoon (02/07/2017) while sitting at home I saw an interesting link that I decided to play with. As you can see in the attached document, the last screen says that my number is blocked for any subscriptions.

Hi John

When you logged your complaint, we promised to assist and sort the matter, which we did.

We investigated the matter and took it up with the company that you were subscribed to. The company which is not linked to Cell C, sent you an email and provided confirmation of you subscribing to their service. They also attached the steps you took when you subscribed to their premium service

Our call centre assisted by advising you to dial *133*1# and manage your subscription services by blocking any existing and future content billing.

Regards

Cell C | PN

Best regards,
